,❤️ I just love the life that some of you are leading ... a VanLife, a Nomadic Way of living! How exciting, and different!
I wish that I had that option when I was young! Do you know that when I was young that you were, actually, arrested if found living in your vehicle, homeless, etc.? You were always a target for the police back then ... AND an embarrassment, to family, friends, just anyone walking down the street, treating you like you were a pariah, or worse.
I am 66 years old, retired ... now, an empty nester, and am seeking a different way of life. In fact, I am ready for a different way of life ... an exciting NEW life adventure! I am ready to, even, take on, and face, new challenges!
I always loved tiny places, or cozy, as they define tiny spaces, now. I always felt that I was born before my time. For example, I was always a thrift store shopper/fanatic because I always just loved to be different ... me, my home, and, unfortunately, even, in the way that I dressed my children, sometimes! I didn't want to follow any so-called traditional norms/behavior, etc. My house ALWAYS was full with talk about pieces, that were always found to be interesting by anyone that visited, or came by.
My children were always embarrassed when I would want to go into, e.g., a Salvation Army Thrift Store, or a Goodwill, etc. They were always afraid/worried that their friends would see them in there. What they couldn't comprehend was that if their friends were in there and saw them ... that they should realize that their friend's mom/parent, or, even, their friends, were shopping the thrift store(s), also! 😂 Now, as they got older (and, thrifting became more popular), and, even, now, in the present, they are frequenting thrift stores, all the time; and, are always boasting, about what they found, and bought, on their social media channels/sites! They, even, ask me about names of thrift shops that I used to drag them to; when they were growing up; so, they can see if any of them are still open!
Anyway, now, I am looking into becoming a 'Vannette;' although, I'm dreaming more of a custom designed build, like a skoolie or an ambulance, than a van. I would feel too cramped/confined in a van; plus I love the builds that I saw, via YouTube, of the different skoolies, ambulances, some box trucks, etc. As of the present, I would be a single camper/Vannette, in the company of my dog, my sidekick, Skyler ... and, most likely, will start out, on this new adventure, very slowly, and move into being a part-timer. But, I do love to move, to travel, to see new, and different places, and styles of living, etc. ... I WANT/I am ready for adventures!
However, I haven't made up my mind, yet, on if I am willing to give up living in a house, or not. However, I am in the midst of downsizing because I do plan on selling the house that has been my home for almost 40 years. Looking at moving into a smaller home; in fact, I would love to find a cute/different tiny house.
Also, I'm already into solar power stations ... I have like 16 of them and waiting on 2 or 3 more (I have 3 large ones, 2 medium ones (in between the large and small ones), and the rest of them smaller portable power stations ... and 10+ solar panels (never counted). Oh, yes ... this 'young' Senior Citizen is heavily invested into solar, and clean living! I am addicted! You can say that I am preparing to live off the grid, if necessary, and warranted!
Anyway, these past last 3 days, I had an opportunity to participate in a VanLife Virtual Summit, 'Learn How To Live In A Van And Travel Fulltime' ... https://vanlife.heysummit.com . I loved it ... it was so full of very useful information! If you have a yearning to do Van Living, and/or similar, also; then you should check, and seek any help, from this site out. Again ... https://vanlife.heysummit.com 👍🏽
